Background Information

Dr. Schiro attended The University of Wisconsin for his undergraduate degree, then graduated  from Marquette University Dental School. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty requires four to six additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training, which Dr. Schiro completed at VA Medical Center, Allen Park, Michigan; with specialty rotations at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Children’s Hospital in Detroit and Wayne State University in Detroit. Dr. William A Schiro has been providing specialty surgical services in the Greater Lansing and St. Johns area since 1985. Our core values of surgical excellence and patient safety are as true today as when we first began providing patients with the finest surgical care possible. Dr. Schiro practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with expertise ranging from corrective jaw surgery to wisdom tooth removal. Dr. Schiro diagnoses and treats facial pain, facial injuries, and TMJ disorders, as well as performs a full range of procedures including dental implant placement, bone grafting, with special expertise that includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort, biopsies, and facial cosmetic procedures.  Our staff is trained in assisting with I.V. sedation and general anesthesia within our modern, state of the art office settings.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Michigan Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Center are trained and experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of IV sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting.  Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery with their health and comfort our priority. All staff members are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies, and are CPR certified.
